This up-to-$1500 scholarship is available to students with a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA who has completed at least one semester in the Diesel Technology program.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. HBCU Scholarship Endowment
This scholarship is available to full-time students with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Scholarship
This scholarship will be administered in two scholarships annually to students who are enrolled full-time at Bishop State Community College. The scholarship is non-renewable. Recipients are only eligible to receive this scholarship once. Each scholarship recipient will receive up to $1,250.00 to cover tuition, fees, and/or books.

American Gas Association
This up-to-$3,000 scholarship is available to students who have completed at least one semester at Bishop State in a two-year degree or certificate program for Welding, HVAC Technology Mechanical Systems, or Engineering Technologies. This scholarship is awarded in three $1,000 installments over three semesters. Funds may be used for tuition and fees. The recipient must have a minimum 2.8 cumulative GPA.
Athletic Scholarships
Athletic Scholarships are awarded in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Alabama Community College System (ACCS) and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA.) Athletic Scholarships cover the cost of tuition & fees (per annually published schedule) up to 19 credit hours and required books. Students must be admitted to Bishop State as a regular, degree-seeking student and enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours within the declared program of study (with limited exceptions.) The Athletic Director is responsible for all eligibility aspects and submits the list of scholarship recipients to the Financial Aid Office. Students should contact the coach(es) of the sport in which they are interested for more information.

Broderick E. Sigler Memorial Scholarship Fund (Aviation)
This scholarship fund was created in memory of Mr. Sigler, a Prichard resident who was enthusiastic about aviation and mentoring others. He was a 1985 graduate of the Alabama Aviation Technical College. This scholarship fund will provide financial assistance to a deserving student in the Aviation Manufacturing Technology program. Funds up to $500 per semester. Applicants must have a 2.75 GPA and must submit a minimum 250-word essay on how the scholarship will assist in meeting post-secondary financial obligations and career goals. Funds may be used for tuition, fees and books. This scholarship is renewable for up to two semesters.

This up-to-$1,000 scholarship is available to students who have completed two semesters in the Machine Tool Technology program. Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and write a 250-word statement or provide a short-form video outlining personal career goals.
DeAngelia Darcel Wallace Scholarship
This up-to-$1,200 scholarship is funded by Ms. Terri E. Wallace. Recipients must have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA and a documented qualifying disability. Applicants must provide a letter of verification from the ADA Office at Bishop State Community College with application. Scholarship is awarded in three $400 installments over three semesters. Diana Black Wildcat Wings Scholarship
This up-to-$500 scholarship is available to students who are enrolled in Aviation or any STEM-related program. Students must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and write a 300-word statement outlining personal career goals, extracurricular interests, volunteerism, and programs (can include high school participation).
Donald E. Jackson Memorial Scholarship Fund
This $500 scholarship is available to students enrolled in the Lineworker Training Program. Applicants must submit a one-page essay on how this scholarship will assist him/her in meeting financial obligations.

This up-to-$500 scholarship is available to students enrolled in any STEM-related program with a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Edna Harris Agnew Early Childhood Scholarship Fund
This $1,000 scholarship is named in memory of Mrs. Edna Ruth Harris Agnew, a graduate of the Mobile branch of Alabama State College, now Bishop State. She went on to further her education at the Alabama State Teachers College (Alabama State University) earning Bachelor's and Master’s Degrees in Elementary Education. Passionate about education, she dedicated 40 years to enriching the lives of the youth of Mobile, AL. This scholarship was created by her granddaughter, Dr. Andrea C. Agnew, also an educator. It is available to graduates of Ben C. Rain High School who are enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program. Applicants must have a 2.5 GPA. Funds may be used for tuition, fees and books. This scholarship is nonrenewable.

Frank D. Rodgers Memorial Scholarship
This up-to-$1,000 scholarship is funded by the Mobile Kappa Alumni Foundation. It is available to a sophomore student pursuing a degree in computer science. Fruitful Beginnings Cosmetology and Barbering Scholarship
Established by Dionne Jackson of Locs of Soul Salon in the amount of $500, the scholarship provides freshman Cosmetology and Barbering students with financial resources to purchase kits needed to provide competency-based knowledge, scientific and artistic principles, and hands-on fundamentals associated with the haircare industry. Recipients should have a desire to specialize in natural hair or entrepreneurship, a 2.7 cumulative GPA, and must submit a 500-word essay on what inspired them to study cosmetology or barbering. Recipients would be required to pass a phone interview.
General Scholarships
These scholarships are available to students with a minimum 2.5 GPA enrolled in any program of study. These scholarships are highly competitive; therefore, applicants are encouraged to pursue other scholarships as their first and second priorities, whenever possible. To be competitive for this scholarship, applicants are encouraged to thoroughly and completely fill out their applications and provide any additional information they feel will make their applications stronger.

This up-to-$500 scholarship is available to students enrolled in a STEM-related or Health Sciences program with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. The scholarship is renewable for up to two semesters. Funds may be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies.

Leslie "Juke" Stone, III Torch Welding Scholarship Fund
This up-to-$500 scholarship is available to those enrolled in Welding, Electronic Engineering Technology, or Process & Maintenance Technology. Students must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Applicants must submit a typed 200-word essay addressing one the following topics: (1) What impacts your interest and commitment to Career Technical Education? (2) How will the Torch scholarship contribute to your academic success? (3) Why is mentoring important? or (4) Upon your future success, how do you plan to “give back” to the community? Students must also submit a letter of recommendation from a high school administrator (principal, school counselor, teacher) or a leader in the community (church or civic). Recipients are eligible to receive this scholarship once. Funds may be used for tuition, books and supplies. Minerva Chandler Scholarship
This up-to-$510 scholarship is available to those enrolled in a Health Sciences program with a minimum 2.0 GPA. This scholarship is funded by the Whiting family in memory of Ms. Minerva Chandler, who was born to enslaved laborers on December 25, 1870, on Orange Vale Plantation near Talladega. The plantation was home to Robert Montague Whiting, Sr., who was brought up in the thoughtful care of Ms. Chandler, as his mother passed when he was very young.

This $250 scholarship is funded by Eric B. Beck. Recipient must be enrolled in Graphic Communications, have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, and be a student member of the American Advertising Federation (AAF). Recipients are eligible to receive this scholarship once. Funds may be used for tuition and fees. Applicants must provide proof of membership in AAF with application.
Shelia D. Osbourne-Beck Culinary Arts Scholarship
This $250 scholarship is funded by Eric B. Beck. Recipient must be enrolled in Culinary Arts, have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, and be a student member of the American Culinary Federation (ACF). Recipients are eligible to receive this scholarship once. Funds may be use for tuition, fees, and books. Applicants must provide proof of membership in ACF with application.
Spears Family Memorial Fund Scholarship
This up-to-$600 scholarship is available to students with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA and who demonstrate financial need via the Foundation scholarship application. The scholarship is renewable for up to two semesters. Funds may be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies.
Strikers Club Scholarship Fund
This $500 scholarship is available to students with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. Applicants must write a personal statement (250-word minimum) explaining their career aspirations and describing their financial need. Funds may be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies.
Student Emergency Fund
The Student Emergency Fund was created by the Bishop State Foundation to assist Bishop State students who encounter an unforeseen financial emergency that would otherwise prevent them from continuing their education at Bishop State. These funds are not intended to be used for routine expenses or as a consistent supplement to a student’s education funding sources. This funding is only available during the semester the student is enrolled and the emergency occurs.
Assistance is granted without regard to race, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.
Your application must be completed in its entirety for requests to be considered. A student may request up to $500 per semester or $750 in one calendar year. There is a $1,500 lifetime maximum.
The Student Emergency Fund can help with unanticipated financial emergencies caused by:
- Housing and living expenses
- Car repairs or transportation issues
- Childcare
- Family emergencies
- Natural disasters
- Unanticipated loss of employment

The First Bank Endowed Scholarship
This up-to-$1,000 scholarship is available to a student with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference is given to general education students who will seek a career in business administration, banking, finance, accounting, or similar. Applicants must write a personal statement (250-word minimum) explaining their career aspirations. All recipients must reside within or be a native of The First Bank’s service area. The scholarship is renewable.
TradesFutures HBCU Construction Scholarship
This $4,920 scholarship is available to a student enrolled full-time in the Electrical Technology (AAS) program, with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Applicants must submit a personal statement (350-word minimum) detailing their intent to utilize their degree in construction or a construction-related industry. This scholarship is awarded in two $2,460 installments during fall and spring. Funds may be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies. Strong preference given to underrepresented groups.
Ty Drinkard Memorial Fund
This up-to-$500 scholarship is funded by the Ty Foundation. It is available to a student enrolled in a technical or workforce development program with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Funds may be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies.
Walmart#7067 Scholarship (First Generation)
This $500 scholarship is funded by the Wal-Mart Distribution Center #7067 to students who are first in their families to attend college. Funds can be used for tuition, books and supplies. Applicants must provide a short personal statement (250 words or less) describing their financial need and what it means to be a first-generation student.
Wildcat Achievement Scholarship
Wildcat Achievement Scholarships are available to Current Wildcats with 24 passed credit hours at Bishop State and a minimum 3.0 GPA.
